CITY DESCRIPTION: VILLA GESEL is 225 miles south of Buenos Aires and 61 miles south of Mar del Plata right on the Atlantic Coast. One of the newest cities it was the dream of Carlos Gesell who discovered the area of sand and pines and sun and surf and started it in 1931. Now it has 15,000 residents and just about everything you could want in a beach resort. It has a great selection of hotels to fit any budget or taste and of course when the sun goes down there are bars and restaurants and even bowling alleys. It is a very good choice for sun and fun worshipers.
