CITY DESCRIPTION: TRELEW is in the province of Chubut in Patagonia some 906 miles south of Buenos Aires and just south of Puerto Madryn on a crossroads going north and south and west (can't go east without getting wet or a boat). It is principally a commercial center as it is the transportation hub for the area. The nearby Valdez Peninsula offers some very unique flora and fauna and the nearby golfo Nuevo annually welcomes whales for their fooling around time, and they do have a whale of a good time. Also the nearby Punta Tombo has one of the world's largest group of Penguins. There is an adequate selection of hotels, restaurants and tourist creature comforts. |
