CITY DESCRIPTION: SAN
LUIS is the capital of the province of the same name with about 125,000
inhabitants. It is 100 miles east of Mendoza and about 175 miles southwest
of Cordoba and 500 miles west of Buenos Aires. Founded in 1594 it is one
of Argentina's older cities it features the feeling of its colonial past.
As a provincial capital it is a center for commerce, the commerce there
being mining, agricultural and manufacturing. But there is a lot of spectacular
scenery if you are there for business, or if for pleasure, to make some
full memorable days. It has the expected good transportation and tourist
facilities for a provincial capital of some importance.
