CITY DESCRIPTION: TERMAS
DE RIO HONDO is located in Santiago del Estero province about 45 miles
from Santiago del Estero City (and its airport) and 775 miles north northwest
of Buenos Aires. It is a good sized town with 46,000 people primarily devoted
to tourism. As the name would indicate, it is built around the mineral
water thermal baths but it offers much more. When you are clean from the
baths there is a casino that, depending on your luck, will clean out something
else. Seriously, it has a very good selection of hotels, restaurants and
other diversions to keep you out of hot water.
