BARILOCHE, ARGENTINA, or
correctly San Carlos de Bariloche is arguably the most famous ski resort
area in the Southern Hemisphere. It's located on the eastern slopes of
the Andes Mountains about 1,000 miles southwest of Buenos Aires at 2,500
feet above sea level. Surrounding mountains reach 8,000 feet. The principal
mountains Otto, Catedral, Campanario, Lopez and Chall-Huaco offer degrees

have a lot to offer for the leisure traveler in the summer season from
rafting to trekking to mountain biking. It can be reached by road or air
from Buenos Aires and from Chile.
